Anthony F. Altmann, Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer
For over 30 years, Mr. Altmann has led successful turnarounds and revitalization efforts as an experienced executive and entrepreneur in the energy and environmental products and services industries. As the former Division President for Wholesale Markets at FPL Group (NYSE), he achieved top industry results and grew his division from $600 million to $3 billion, increasing profits to over $100 million annually. Prior to joining FPL, he was President of Allegheny & Western (NASDAQ), an integrated natural gas company, which grew from $5-$350 million and was recognized as a Top 15 Fastest Growing Company by INC. Magazine. Most recently, he completed the successful turn-around and sale of Enviroline Group, a 'green' chemical company, to AkzoNobel. Mr. Altmann is a member of the Young Presidents Organization ("YPO"), serves on the Board of several private companies and is a Board Member and Trustee at Green Depot and the EcoChamber. He earned his BA degree from the Boston College and his MBA degree, in Finance, from Columbia University.


Joe Stepenovitch, Co-Founder and Vice Chairman / Utility Markets
Mr. Stepenovitch has over thirty years of experience in the power transmission operations and wholesale energy business. As Division Vice President for FPL, he managed all transmission system operations as well as all daily operations for fuel and energy procurement. In addition, he directed the marketing and trading of physical power and fuels for 22,000 MW of generating assets in 14 states. Mr. Stepenovitch began his career at New England Power as a System Operator. He serves as Vice Chair of Sustainable Broward Green Commission, Broward County Fla. He earned his BS degree from the Barry University.


Karl Zimmerman, Co-Founder, President and Chief Technology Officer
Prior to selling his company to Energy IQ in 2010, Mr. Zimmerman was the founder and President of Intercon Systems, a leader in the design and installation of energy management and building controls technologies. Before founding Intercon, he was Vice President of Integrated Building Technologies, Inc ("IBT"), a large regional engineering and mechanical contracting firm, where he managed the low voltage division for energy management, security and fire alarm systems. Prior to joining IBT, Mr. Zimmerman was Director of Facilities Operations for Sensormatic where he was responsible for a $25 million capital budget and managed the design, construction and operations of new and existing facilities. He started his career with IBM, where he was the Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer in Boca Raton and later worked as a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in data center and retail system construction design and implementation. Mr. Zimmerman earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and graduated from IBM's Sales and System.


Richard Abedon, CCIM, LEED® AP, Executive Vice President
Mr. Abedon brings 20 years of successful sales experience in the real estate and financial services industries. Prior to joining EnergyIQ, he was Executive Vice President for Navarro Lowrey Properties, where he led the company's project marketing, leasing, and acquisitions. While at Navarro Lowrey, he was a leader in the development of the award winning EcoPlex at Centrepark West, a four-story, 100,000-square-foot Class "A", high performance office building that achieved a LEED® Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2009 under the LEED for Core and Shell Rating System. Prior to joining Navarro Lowrey, he was Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for the Brenner Real Estate Group. Mr. Abedon has been engaged in the local community where he serves as a number of civic and business organizations including as Chairman of the Green Energy Cluster for the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County and the South Florida and Caribbean Chapter of the Urban Land Institute. He is a graduate of Tufts University and earned a MBA from Boston University.


Roger Gowder Sr., Vice President, Operations
Mr. Gowder has 25 years of building automation experience and is a master mechanical and general contractor. Prior to joining Energy IQ, he was president of RVG & Associates a leader in the design, engineering, integration and installation of building automation and control systems. Before creating RVG, he was Chief Engineer of the one million square foot Richard B. Russell Building with the General Services Administration (GSA) in Atlanta Georgia, as well as a Retrofit and Controls Manager with Industrial Air Conditioning and Integrated Building Technologies. In these roles he successfully completed over $100 million in mechanical and building automation projects for customers including JM Family, Marriott, City of Boca Raton, GSA, Regions Bank, Washington Mutual Bank and Florida Power & Light Company. Mr. Gowder is a member of the US Green Building Council, ASHRAE, US Energy Star Program and the US Building Commissioning Association.


Steve Atkinson, Utility Relations Manager
Mr. Atkinson has been actively involved in the development of utility and grid management for over 25 years. He currently develops and implements technical infrastructure for generators and utilities. His work includes establishing Control Areas for independent power generators allowing them to transmit and sell energy across various parts of the US grid infrastructure. He previously served as Manager of Energy Resources, Walt Disney Company, where he was responsible for all of the energy needs throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Mr. Atkinson is a Graduate of The Power Technology Institute, completed graduate work in Statistics at the University of Miami, holds a B.S. degree in Engineering and Professional Management from Nova University.
